The first CES was held way back in 1967. Now we have CES ( Consumer Electronics Show ) 2011 right around the corner and the HTC Thunderbolt is going to be there. If you have seen a smartphone running around on the internet with the name of Mecha or Incredible HD, you are seeing the same phone. It has seen the buzz, that is for sure. It may not be bad news to average users, but the HTC Thunderbolt is going to be using android 2.2. That is already an old version of android. If you are unfamiliar with android, it is a free ( as in “cost” ) mobile operating system offered to the world by Google. Why offer it for free ? Because it is packed with their services, and of course, targeted ads.
The economic funk that most of the Western world is in means free is going to be very popular for quite a while. Android has around 200,000 apps ( applications ) and games that can be downloaded. Around 57 percent are free and around 20 percent are unsafe for personal information. Android does have the Webkit browser that allows the user to view flash files for a rich web experience.
